(5) The dew point spread is the number of degrees between the actual temperature (dry-bulb) and
the dew point. To find the temperature at which dew will begin to form, you can use the table below.
Example: the dry-bulb temperature is 60 , the wet-bulb reads 56, the spread between the dry-bulb, and
wet-bulb reading is 4. Using Table 5-2 read down for the value of 4 and across to the columns for 60
and you finds a value of seven. This 7 tells you that there is a 7 dew point spread. This 7 spread is
subtracted from the dry-bulb temperature of 60, and that tells you that 53 is the dew point temperature.
CAUTION
The surface temperature of the material to be painted must be at least 5 above the dew
point.
