(1)  Inspection of material used by the Contractor in accordance with specifications. Surplus, second hand or
used material will not be accepted unless specifically approved by the contracting officer.
(2)  Government Property, consisting of scrap, salvage, removed property and contractor furnished property,
must be adequately protected and accounted for. "Government Property" shall include, but will not be limited to:
(a)
Items of equipment aboard the vessel, both fixed and movable.
(b)
Items of supplies aboard the vessel.
(c)
Scrap generated during the contract period.
(d)
Equipment purchased by the Contractor in accordance with specification requirements.
(e)
Items and material removed from the vessel in compliance with work specifications.
(3)  Each Surveyor is charged with, and shall be responsible for work-in-progress inspection. Deficiencies
and defective workman- ship or material shall be rejected as work progresses and must be corrected before work is con-
tinued.
d. The Surveyor assigned to a Contractor's plant or worksite represents the UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT.
His actions are observed by the general public and shall be such at all times as to reflect creditably to the Installation,
Service and the Government. The following policies will establish a firm and respectful understanding between the Sur-
veyors and the people with whom he comes into contact:
(1)
Establish clear understandings with the Contractor on all inspection matters of mutual interest.
(2)
Cultivate an atmosphere of cooperation with the Contractor.
(3)  Observe the applicable rules and regulations pertaining to personal conduct, safety and security estab-
lished in the Contractor's plant.
(4)  Govern himself in accordance with the rules of conduct set forth in Army Procurement Procedures, and
Standards of Conduct for DA Personnel, AR 600-50.
e. In the event an accident occurs within the work site, where- in Government property is damaged, the Surveyor
shall immediately notify his supervisor by telephone, giving information such as cause of the accident, time and place
that the accident occurred, the property damaged, and an estimate of the cost of repairing or replacing the damaged item
or items.
