DYNAMIC DEHUMIDIFICATION INSTRUCTIONS
TUG, HARBOR, 1200 HP, 100 FOOT
DESIGN 3006 (FLIGHTS 1 AND 2)
I. GENERAL: These instructions provide details required for preparation and installation of dynamic
dehumidification on the 100 foot harbor tug. Material and man hours required to perform the functions herein are
specified in the attached listing. The vessel has approximately 40,000 cubic feet of area to be dehumidified.
A. Herculite covers secured with nylon drawstrings shall be installed over the following items:
Flying bridge pelorus stand and gyrocompass repeater.
Flying bridge blinker light key.
Flying bridge searchlight.
Anchor windlass master switch.
After capstan master switch.
Cargo loading lights (4 each).
Boat deck freezer.
Life preserver locker.
Stowage lockers on boat deck (4 each).
Boat deck engine order telegraph.
After steering station control.
After steering station sound powered phone box.
After steering station voice tubes (2 each).
Ventilation mushroom on the fan room aft. of the pilothouse.
Officers washroom mushroom vent.
Crews washroom mushroom vent.
Exterior intercom stations and loud speakers.
A/URC-92 radio antenna coupler.
P-250 portable bilge pump.
Stencil each cover with its purpose and/or location.
B. Install the existing metal covers (located at the intakes) over the engine room supply fan intake (main deck
port aft.), ventilation cowl adjacent to fidley skylight, the galley exhaust fan outlet (stbd. side aft. on deck
house), and the lazarette natural vents (port and stbd. main deck aft. under the bulwark). Seal with
pressure sensitive tape, glue and strip coat any visible cracks.
C. Using wooden blanks, pressure sensitive tape, glue and strip coat; seal the louvers on the port aft.
