3-107. THERMOSTART UNIT REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS MK1 AND MK2 W/SABRE
TOOLS: 7/16 inch Open End Wrench
15/16 inch Open End Wrench
PARTS/MATERIALS: Thermostart Unit
REMOVE:
1.
Open and secure engine hatches (refer to paragraph 3-154).
NOTE
Replacement of thermostart unit is the same for both engines.
Only a small amount of fuel is in thermostart hose.
2.
Note wire location and remove wires (1) from terminals of thermostart unit (2).
3.
Use 7/16 inch open end wrench to loosen nut (3) on fuel hose (4) at thermostart unit (2).
4.
Hold rag below end of thermostart reservoir (6), hose (4) and disconnect hose (4) from thermostart
unit (2).
5.
Use 15/16 inch open end wrench to remove thermostart unit (2) from manifold duct (5).
