3-10. SPARK PLUG REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

REMOVAL
1. Rubber spark plug cover (1)
Remove
Twist slightly counterclockwise and pull.
and lead
2. Spark plugs (2)
Remove.
Use spark plug socket wrench 13/16" (21 mm)
and ratchet.
INSTALLATION
1. Spark plug seat in
Clean.
cylinder head
NOTE
Do not get dirt in spark plug
holes.

2. Spark plug and gasket
Install fingertight.
3. Spark plug (2)
Turn 1/4 turn more using
If torque wrench is available, tighten to a torque of
wrench.
17-1/2 to 20-1/2 lb ft (24 to 27 N-m).
CAUTION
Do not overtighten. Damage
may result to cylinder head.
4. Spark plug covers (1)
Install.
Be sure that spring clip in spark plug covers make
and lead
firm contact with spark plug terminals.
