b.
Inspect the blower oil seals by removing the air inlet housing and
watching through the blower inlet for oil radiating away from the blower
rotor shaft oil seals while the engine is running. If oil is passingthrough
the seals, refer to Direct Support Maintenance.
c.
Check for a defective blower-to-block gasket. Replace the gasket.
Refer to paragraph 3-12.
Step 2.
Check for low coolant temperature.
Refer to MALFUNCTION 1.
Step 3.
Check for faulty injectors.
a. Check injector timing and the position of each injector rack.
Refer to paragraphs 3-15 and 3-31. The erratic operation may
be caused by an injector check valve leaking, spray tip holes
enlarged or a broken spray tip. Replace faulty injectors. Refer
to paragraph 3-15.
