MALFUNCTION

3. Faulty fuel pump.
Step 1. Check for relief valve not seating.
Perform a Fuel Oil Test and, if inadequate, clean and inspect the valve seat
assembly. Refer to paragraphs 3-69.
Step 2. Check for worn gears or pump body. Replace the pump, refer to paragraph 3-69.
Step 3. Check for fuel pump not rotating. Check the condition of the fuel pump drive and
blower drive and replace defective parts. Refer to paragraphs 3-66, 3-68
and 3-69.
4. Faulty installation.
Step 1. Check for restricted fitting missing from return line.
Install a restricted fitting elbow in the return line.
