NOTE
When adjusting for gear tooth clearance by installing or
removing shims, the same number of shims must be changed
under each foot so that the pump will always be level on the
main bearing caps. The insertion or removal of one .005 inch
(0.013 cm) shim will change the gear tooth clearance by .0035
inch (0.0089 cm).

NOTE
When attaching the pump outlet and the pressure regulator,
none of the bolts should be tightened until all the bolts have
been started. After all bolts are started, the outlet pipe bolts (1)
should be tightened alternately, then the pressure regulator bolts
(8) should be tightened, and finally the pipe-to-regulator screws
(4) should be secured. This procedure prevents twisting the
outlet pipe.
