e. The Coolant System is shown in Figure 1-53. Coolant is circulated through the engine by a centrifugal-type water
pump. Heat is removed in a closed system, by the heat exchanger. Control of the engine temperature is accomplished
by a thermostat which regulates the flow of the coolant within the cooling system.
f. Engine starting is provided by an hydraulic starting system. Engine speed is controlled by a mechanical variable speed
