(i) The oscilloscope is convenient for spotting unbalance in the push-pull output circuit. If one half of the output
sine wave is flattened or appreciably distorted compared to the loop on the other half, this can mean one of the output
transistors has gone bad. It can also indicate one half of the driver secondary is open, or that one of the collector to base
resistors is defective. Further checks for amplifier transmission troubles ahead to the output stage follow standard
electronic amplifier testing procedures.
