2-117. ALARM SYSTEM TEST.
a. The alarm system should be tested as follows:
initial turn - on
after service
as required
b. There are three types of tests:
ground test
alarm test
trouble test
c.  The alarm system must be turned on and the PILOT LIGHT is lit. (Refer to paragraph 2-115). To test the alarm
system proceed as follows:
(1) Ground test.
(a) Positive Ground -

The GROUND POS. LINE lamp (1) is brightly lit. A ground is present in one or more of the positive
wires to a sensing device.

One at a time - Place switch (2) in the OFF position. If the light goes out, the positive ground is in
the indicated circuit.

Place each switch (2) in the NORMAL position. either ground light (1 or 3) is lit, there is a ground in
that circuit also.
