e. Remove cover (5) and inspect
seal ring (6) and replace if
in poor condition.

Carefully remove the element
assembly (7). Avoid striking
the wire cloth against edges
of strainer housing as wire
cloth is easily damaged.
g. Place element assembly, with
flat end down, on a flat
surface. Reach through the
top and open conical end of
the element sidewise inner
element (8) and outer element
assembly will come apart
easily.
WARNING
Wear eye protection when using compressed air
h. Clean cover (5) and housing
(9) using detergent and
clean water.
i.
Place both inner (8) and
outer elements (7) in a
container of clean fuel oil
and allow to soak long
enough to soften accumulated
contaminate. A non-metallic
bristle brush may be used to
remove caked contaminant.
