5-6. RAMP CONTROLS.
a. The ramp hoisting arrangement consists of a hoisting cable deadended to one side of the craft, running through
fairlead sheaves through the ramp, and to a winch on the opposite side. The winch is on the port side.
b. Winches are powered by hydraulic motors.  Other system components include a four-way control valve,
counterbalance valve, two engine-driven pumps, two check valves, suction line strainers, and return line filters. See
c. Emergency lowering of the ramp is accomplished by a manual brake release. Two chain hoists are stored in
the lazarette to be used for emergency lifting of the ramp.
