CAUTION
Do not overpack ball bearings. Excess lubricant in alternator may flow into electrical parts and cause
malfunction.
c. Replace defective ball
bearings as follows:
(1) Place a small quantity of
grease on a clean, flat
surface.
(2) Press bearing into lubri-
cant until grease starts
to flow through to opposite
side of bearing.
(3) Wipe off excess grease from
sides and outside of bearings
with a clean cloth.

Place field wire (37), flat-

washer (38), and terminal
insulator (39) onto carriage
bolt (36), and insert carriage
bolt thru cover (7).
b.
Place insulating washer (35),
flatwasher (34), and lock-
washer (33) onto carriage
bolt (36), and secure with hex
nut (32).
