Valves
a.
Place a block between the
cylinder head and the work
bench to support valves.
b.
Thread spring compressor
Use tool J7455.
tool into the rocker shaft
bolt hole.
c.
Apply pressure to handle
and compress valve spring
far enough to remove the
two-piece tapered valve
lock (1).
d.
Release pressure from tool
and remove spring retainer
(2), spring' (3), shouldered
washer (4), and gasket (5).
NOTE
Turn cylinder head over using care to keep valves from dropping out,
and number each valve to facilitate reinstallation in the same position.
e.
Remove valves (6) from
cylinder head.
