c. With the clutch drive shaft and
bearing assembly installed in
the clutch housing, the clutch
drive shaft bearing end play may
be checked as follows:
(1)
Support the clutch housing
with a sling and chain hoist
with the drive (pulley) end
of the shaft down.
(2)
Lower the clutch housing
until the end of the drive
shaft rests on the wood
block.
(3)
Insert four pieces of shim
stock, which are the same
thickness, between the
bearing retainer and the
drive shaft.
