If bearings (28) have been removed, remove bushing (23) from the port end cover (3).
CLEANING
CLEAN MOTOR PARTS
a.
Clean thrust plates with a clean
lint-free  cloth.  Never  wash  the
thrust plates.
WARNING
Dry cleaning solvent, P-D-680, used to clean parts, is potentially
dangerous
to  personnel  and  property. Avoid repeated or
prolonged skin contact. Do not use near open flame or excessive
heat. Flash point of solvent is 100 - 138F (38- 59C).
b.
Clean all other motor parts in
solvent  P-D-680  Dry  thoroughly
with compressed air or clean with
lint-free cloths.
c.
Allow bearings to air dry after
cleaning in solvent P-D-680. Do not
dry with compressed air.
INSPECTION
INSPECT MOTOR PARTS
a. Inspect  and  discard  all 'O' rings,
backup washers and pocket seals and
get replacements.
b. Inspect needle bearings for freeness
of rollers.
Check  for pits, broken
rollers or excessive wear and replace
if any of these conditions exist.
c. Inspect gears, check the edges of
the gear teeth and faces for scoring or
roughness.
Remove roughness or
scoring with a fine hone.
