INSPECTION AND SERVICING
Inspection and servicing of lube oil bypass filter group is covered inTable 2-1.
REMOVAL
a. Drain engine lube oil.
(1) Shut down engine. TM 55-1905-223-10.
2) Wait 15 minutes, then open the valve between the engine oil pan and sump pump. Be sure the
valve to the marine gear is closed.
(3) Turn sump pump handle until all oil has been pumped from oil pan.
(4) Close valve.
b. Remove oil bypass filter group.
CAUTION
Upon removal and replacement of this unit, cover, blank, or
otherwise protect all openings to prevent foreign matter from
entering and damaging the system.
