Return Filter
Change return filter element in hydraulic power pack
Element
assembly by following these steps:
a. Press STOP button on stern control box to turn
off ac motor in hydraulic power pack assembly.
Tag panel "Out of Service - Do Not Operate."
b. Locate return filter on top of power pack
assembly.
c. Place suitable container under return filter.
d. Use oil filter wrench and turn filter
counterclockwise.
e. Remove gasket and filter from filter head.
f. Apply film of hydraulic fluid to gasket and
install new filter in filter head.
g. Secure filter by turning clockwise 1/2 to 3/4
turn after initial gasket contact.
h. Turn on ac motor in hydraulic power pack
assembly.
i. Remove "Out of Service - Do Not Operate" tag.
j. Check fluid level indicator. If level is below
FULL mark, add hydraulic fluid to FULL mark.
k. Turn off ac motor in hydraulic power pack
assembly.

Drive Coupling
Visually check the drive coupling between ac motor
and hydraulic pump. Check rubber insert for wear.
Check hubs for looseness and shifting. Check
setscrews for looseness; secure as required.
Replace defective parts.
NOTE
Access to the coupling is through the opening
at the bottom of 'C' adapter.
