Do not work on pressurized system unless
Electrical tags, Item 16, Appendix C
specific task requires it.
Observe warning when working on high
pressure system Lines.
SERVICE (FIGURE 2-4).
a. Check that winch brake is applied, dog engaged, clutch disengaged, and anchor secured by winch and turnbuckle.
b. Shut OFF power to stern control box at main switchboard (reference TM 55-1905-223-10) located in engine
control room.
c. Tag circuit breaker on main switchboard and control panel on stern control box "Out of Service - Do Not Operate."
d. Check pressure gauge (2) on directions1 control valve (1) for zero hydraulic pressure indication in system. If
hydraulic pressure is indicated on gauge, allow 5 minutes for hydraulic fluid in system to settle or return to
reservoir.
