(2) Installing new sleeves.
(a)
Apply a coat of clean lubricating oil to a new sleeve packing. Install the packing into the
groove in the bore for the sleeve (Figure 4-15).

CAUTION
Do not use a hammer to drive sleeve into bore.
(b)
Use the injector sleeve driver to push the sleeve into the bore.
(c)
Remove the driver from the sleeve.
(d)
Install the injector sleeve holding tool into the sleeve. Tighten the capscrews to 35 to 40 ft-lb
(47 to 54 N ) torque.

(e)
Install the driver in the sleeve.
(f)
Hit the driver two times with a hammer to ensure the sleeve is against the bottom of the bore.
Remove the driver and tighten the holding tool capscrew again to35 to 49 ft-lb (47 to 54 N )

(h)
Use the injector sleeve expander to expand the upper section of the sleeve to cause a seal
between the sleeve and the cylinder head.
