REMOVAL
CAUTION
Do not damage the crankshaft when removing the key.
a.
Remove the crankshaft gear (10, Figure 4-39) with a gear puller and remove key (9).
b.
Remove the engine main bearings (1, 2, 4, 6, 7, and 8) and thrust bearings (3) as follows:
CAUTION
The main bearing caps are marked for position on the camshaft side and the
cylinder block identification on the exhaust side. Mark any caps that are not
marked before removing them from the cylinder block.
