WARNING
The injector plunger is under spring tension. Do not allow the
rocker lever actuator to slip. Personal injury can result.
(n)
Actuate the injector rocker lever several times. Allow the lever to return slowly to prevent damage to
the dial indicator. Hold the injector plunger to the bottom of its travel, and confirm the "0" (zero)
reading on the dial indicator.
(o)
Allow the injector rocker lever to return slowly. Check the reading on the dial indicator. Repeat the
adjustment process if the reading is not within specifications.
(p)
Adjust the crossheads and the valves on cylinder No. 5 before rotating the accessory drive to the next
valve set mark. Refer to "Crosshead Adjustment" and "Valve Adjustment" in this procedure.
(q)
After adjusting the crossheads and the valves on cylinder No. 5, rotate the accessory drive; align the
next valve set mark on the accessory drive pulley with the pointer on the gear cover (FIGURE 2-42).
(r)
Adjust the appropriate injector, the crossheads, and the valves. Follow the valve and injector
adjustment sequence chart, Table 2-3.
(s)
Repeat the process to adjust all the injectors, the crossheads, and the valves.
