GAUGING CONTENTS OF 55-GAL.. DRUMS
These tables are useful for general inventory purposes where it is desired to make approximate measurements.
An ordinary yardstick is inserted through the bung. The number of wet inches showed on the stick is noted. This
number is located in the table under the column marked "Wet Inches." The gallons of liquid in the drum will be found op-
posite this number under the temperature at which the measurement was taken.
These tables were computed for 190-proof alcohol in standard ICC-17E drums but can be used for approximate
measurement of other liquids.
