Inspect the gasket on the battery cover (1) for damage and dirt. Clean if necessary.

NOTE
If a nickel cadmium (rechargeable) battery is installed, check to be sure it is fully charged
and align the battery keying with the battery compartment.
3.
Install the battery (2) marked (+ -) end first.
4.
Install the power battery cover (1) (top of the unit) by twisting it clockwise.
