a. Camshaft
1. Insert the front

end of the camshaft
with the right hand
helix gear through the
opening on the right
bank side in the rear
end plate until the
first intermediate
bearing enters the
bore. Continue to work
the camshaft and
bearings into the
cylinder block until
the camshaft gear
teeth are about to
engage the teeth of
the mating gear. Use
care not to damage
the cam lobes when
installing the cam-
shaft.
2. Align the timing marks
on the mating gears as
shown below and slide
the camshaft gear in
place.
