OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
FOR
PROPELLER SHAFT LOCKING
Shaft locking plates are stowed on Fwd. side of Bhd. 62-1/2 in Aft engine room.
1.
Fasten locking plate to aft surface of engine shaft coupling flange using three 3/4" x 1-1/2" socket head bolts into
the tapped holes in coupling flange.
NOTE:
For emergency towing the shaft may be left unlocked only if the standby lube oil pump is activated to
lubricate the reverse gear.
