b. Engine Model and Serial Number Designation.
(1)
The engine serial number and model number are stamped on the right-side of the cylinder block.
(2) Engines with optional equipment have an option plate attached to one of the valve rocker covers.
The engine serial number and model number are also stamped on this plate.
(3) Hydraulic marine gears also carry name plates pertaining to the particular assembly to which they
are attached.
