3-26. BALANCE WEIGHT COVER - MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS.
a. The balance weight cover encloses the combination balance weight and water pump drive gear on the
front end of the right cylinder bank camshaft. This cover also serves as a support for the fresh water pump.
b. The balance weight cover requires no servicing. When an engine is being completely reconditioned or
when the right bank camshaft, camshaft bearings or water pump drive gear need replacing, the balance weight
cover must be removed.
