Great care must be used during the installation of a valve seat insert since this
part is a press fit in the cylinder head.
a. Cylinder
Clean.
Wash with fuel
head
oil and dry
with compressed
air.
Use eye protection when using compressed air.
b. Valve
Clean.
Wash the valve
insert
insert counter-
bore and valve
insert with a
good solvent.
Dry with com-
pressed air.
c. Valve
Inspect.
Inspect the
insert
valve seat in-
counter-
sert counter-
bore
bore in the
cylinder head
for cleanli-
ness, concen-
tricity, flat-
ness and cracks.
