Examine the camshaft lobes for

scoring, pitting or flat spots. Re-
place the camshaft if necessary.
Refer to Direct Support Maintenance.
e. Check the cam follower-to-cylinder
head clearance. The clearance must
not exceed .006 inch (0.015 cm) with
used parts.
f.
Examine the cam follower bores in
cylinder head to make sure they are
clean, smooth and free of score marks.
If necessary, clean up the bores.
