2-189. EMERGENCY STEERING.

To rig the landing craft for emergency steering, proceed as follows

NOTE

The following procedure requires two men.

a. Ordnance Stores (2-40-0-a).

Obtain the following components:

davit assemblies (1) - two required

block and tackle (2), (5 inch triple blocks, 5/8" diameter rope) - two required.

spanner wrench (3)

Take to deck aft of stern gate.

b. Aft Deck.

This applies to either port or starboard side.

Use spanner wrench (3) to remove deck plug (4).
