MALFUNCTION
TEST OR INSPECTION
CORRECTIVE ACTION
1.
Engine driven pump fails to raise pressure (Cont) Step 3. Check for plugged screen or filter.
a.
Remove and clean the reservoir screen and flush out the reservoir tank. Refer to
paragraph 3-52.
b.
Clean the filter located in the supply hose between the reservoir and the engine-
driven pump. Refer to paragraph 3-52.
Step 4. Check for check valves not functioning properly.
a.
Open the relief valve (3) on the side of the hand pump, while the engine is running
to permit the engine-driven pump to wash the check valves free from particles.
b.
If the accumulator can be charged with the hand pump but not with the engine-
driven pump, then a check valve in the engine pump is defective. Replace the
faulty check valve assembly. Refer to paragraph 3-48.
Step 5. Check for defective drive.
Replace the pump drive arm. Refer to paragraph 3-48.
