Pressure gage and alarm switch (Cont).
Step 2.
Check gage line obstruction.
Remove and clean the alarm switch line; replace if necessary. Refer to paragraph
3-100.
Step 3.
Check gage orifice for plugging.
Remove and clean the alarm switch orifice. Refer to paragraph 3-100.
Step 4.
Check electrical alarm panel for faults (Pilot House).
Repair or replace defective electrical equipment. Refer to paragraph 3-65.
4.
Oil pump.
Step 1.
Check for partially clogged intake screen.
a. Remove and clean the oil pan and oil intake screen. Refer to paragraph 3-89,
3-94 and 3-96.
b. Consult the Lubrication Oil Grades Table for the proper grade and viscosity of
oil.
c.
Change the oil filters. Refer to paragraph 3-74.
Step 2.
Check for faulty relief valve.
Remove and inspect the valve, valve bore and spring. Replace faulty parts. Refer
to paragraph 3-94.
Step 3.
Check for air leak in pump suction.
Disassemble the piping and install new gaskets. Refer to paragraph 3-95.
