Dial of two-speed unit rotates continuously in an increasing direction.
Step 1.
No signal from control transformers to amplifier; anti-stickoff voltage drives servo.

Dial travels slowly in one direction only.
Step 1.
Amplifier is unbalanced or open circuited.

Dial moves sluggishly.
Step 1.
Check for dirt in gear train.

Damping is excessive.
