WARNING
Disconnect battery cables when working on the alternator or regulator.
l.
Alternator
a. Using detergent and water
solution, remove all foreign
matter (oil, grease, dirt,
ect.) from alternator
cover. Remove cover.
b. Inspect lead connections for
frayed insulation. Clean
as required.
c.
Remove alternator rear
housing brush cover. Remove
screws or clips from terminals.
Lift brush assembly up and
away from the slip rings.
