Wear safety goggles when using compressed air to avoid possible eye injury.
Air
pressure should not exceed 30 psi (206.8 kPa).
Dry cleaning solvent, P-D-680, used to clean parts, is potentially dangerous to personnel
and property. Avoid repeated or prolonged skin contact. Do not use near open flame or
excessive heat. Flash point of solvent is 100o - 138oF (38o- 59oC).
a. Clean parts with
cleaning solvent Fed.
Spec. P-D-680 and dry
thoroughly.
b. Clean all passages with
compressed air.

a. Rotate ball bearings
Governor
slowly by hand to
detect rough or
flat spots, corrosion
or pitting.
b. Inspect riser thrust
bearings for corrosion,
flat spots or wear.
c. Inspect bushings in
weights for wear.
d. Inspect operating shaft
and bushing for wear.
