EMERGENCY BILGE SYSTEM.
a.
The emergency bilge system is used to pump the bilges when flooding is imminent. The system consists of
two motor driven centrifugal pumps and a bypass flow regulator. The bilge pump/hydraulic motor assemblies are
mounted above the bilge manifold and take suction from it. Each pump has a suction valve and a discharge valve. The
discharge piping runs athwartship through the port side of the hull and contains a strainer.
