2-9.4 Emergency Bilge Pumping. In the event of flooding, the two hydraulic motor-driven bilge pumps are
used to remove water from the vessel. Perform the following instructions:
a.
With engines in operation and sea water system lined up, open the priming valve in both sea water
priming lines.
b.
Open the overboard discharge valve (12) for both bilge pumps (13).
c.
Open the suction valve (14) for both bilge pumps.
d.
Open the bilge manifold valves (IS) to the bilge compartments that need emptying.
