(5) Other Possible Causes of Engine Noise.
(a) Gear train whine.
1 Excessive gear backlash.
2 Insufficient oil supply.
3 Worn gears.
(b) Bearing failure in the turbocharger, water pump, or fuel pump.
(c) Loose or damaged engine mounts.
(d) Vibrating tubing or hoses due to loose, damaged or missing mounting hardware.
