Perform Functional Test of Engine Starting Batteries.

(1) Verify that engine can be started in accordance
with posted operating instructions.
(2) Start engine.
(3) Ensure batteries are capable of cranking and
starting engine.
(4) Stop engine.
(5) If batteries are not functional:
(a) Apply normal charge.
(b) Repeat steps a. through d.
(c) Replace batteries which are not functional.
