(5) Withdraw shaft from housing and remove preformed packing (22).
(6) Remove sight glass (17) by tapping or pressing on glass outward.
d. Brake Subassemblv.
(1) Hand hold brake bolt (2) and turn handle (25) counterclockwise until brake bolt separates
from brake housing (24).
(2) Remove break bolt and cylindrical spring (1) from gear box housing.
(3) Remove threaded pin (23).
(4) Remove brake housing (24) and handle (25) from frame.
e. Hood Support Subassembly.
(1) Remove threaded pin (7).
(2) Slide cylindrical pin (5) out of hood support (8).
(3) Remove machine screw (3) and flat washer (4).
(4) Separate and remove hood support from cylindrical pin (6) and frame top.
(5) Remove cylindrical pin (6) from frame top.
f. Bowl Assembly (Self-Locking Screw).
(1) Remove self-locking screw (9) by turning handle counterclockwise until screw is clear of
frame.
(2) Remove self-locking screw on opposite side of frame.
g. Frame.
NOTE
Frame removal procedures are covered in paragraph 3-17, vertical gear assembly.
REPAIR
Repair of frame assembly consists of replacing: rubber cushions (6) (refer to disassembly note
above), gaskets (2, 15, 12, 1, 14), preformed packing (22), sight glass (17).
