WARNING
Before attempting any maintenance
task on the generator set, make
sure the generator is removed from
the line. Make sure the engine is
shut off and that the automatic
starting circuits on engines
are disabled to avoid in-
jury to personnel. Make sure that
you read the warning page at
the front of this manual.

Water Pump Belt
Visually inspect the engine. Look for glazed,
loose, frayed, cracked, or misaligned belts.
Secure, align, or replace belt as necessary (para-
graph 2-33).
If the water pump belt and pulley can not be
aligned, replace the water pump (paragraph 2-33).

Hoses (on all
CAUTION
components)
Do not bend or deform the hoses
during inspection. This can cause
hoses to crack.
Visually inspect all hoses for cracks or cuts and
check for any signs of ballooning or collapsing.
Replace as necessary.
Check for loose fittings and clamps, and signs of
l
leakage. Secure as necessary.
