REPLACEMENT

TM 55-1905-223-24-3

Remove the remaining ten hexagon head capscrews (11) and lockwashers (12), the exhaust manifold (3), and the

three exhaust manifold gaskets (4) and preformed packing (2). Discard gaskets and packing.

REPAIR

Repair consists of replacing gaskets, tubes, or connections.

Use a 240 grit emery cloth to remove carbon deposits from the sealing surfaces.

Clean the exhaust manifold (3).

Visually inspect the water transfer tube and connection (9). Replace as required.
