Fill aft peak ballast tank.

Start bilge pump. Take soundings of aft peak tank (fig. 2-27).

When filled to required level, secure pump. Secure all valves.

Fill fuel oil tank No. 1 with ballast.

Before filling fuel oil tank No. 1 with ballast, transfer any fuel oil

to the other tanks (para. 2-12). Start bilge pump and fill tank

as required. When the bow rides properly, the tank can be cut

off from valve (19). Secure pump. Secure all valves.

CAUTION
