AIR INTAKE SYSTEM
Air is ducted from the weather decks to the main propulsion engines. The air is thoroughly cleaned by passing though the air
intake filters, protecting the engine from abrasive material as well as protecting the lubricating oil from contaminants.
Filtered air is provided to the engine air box (figure 2, item 1) after being pressurized by the turbocharger (figure 2, items 2
and 3).
