HEAT EXCHANGER
NOTE
Only the bow thruster and the pump drive engines have heat exchangers.
The heat exchanger (figure 3, item 1) contains a large number of tubes. Engine coolant circulates inside the tubes while raw
water circulates outside the tubes. As the engine coolant and raw water flows through the heat exchanger, the raw water
absorbs the heat from the engine coolant and carries that heat away.
