MAIN ENGINES AND TRANSMISSIONS, OVERHAUL AND RECONDITIONING (INDEFINITE) (CONTINUED)
During test run, take and record all temperatures, RPM, time, pressures, air box pressure and crankcase
pressure. Readings shall be taken at thirty (30) minute intervals.
Upon completion of satisfactory test run, while engines are still hot, hot torque cylinder head and reset
exhaust valve and injector rocker arm clearances.
Dynamometer Report:
Furnish the Ship Surveyor with three (3) typewritten copies of all readings taken.
Painting:
Upon completion of dynanometer test, time and hot torque each engine to manufacturer's specifications,
clean each engine, transmission and all components free of all oil, grease or other foreign matter and apply two
(2) coats of heat resisting gray machinery enamel, Specification No. MIL-E-15090B#2#, 29 Feb 1956.
