Intent and Purpose:
The intent and purpose of this item is to provide for the complete overhaul and reconditioning of the
designated main engines, transmissions and their attached assemblies, subassemblies and accessories.
No attempt has been made to include every detail required for this overhaul and reconditioning in this
item; therefore, no omission of detail shall relieve the Contractor from his responsibility to perform within the
stated intent and purpose of this item.
Requirement:
The overhaul and reconditioning of the designated engines, transmission, assemblies, sub-assemblies
and accessories shall be performed in accordance with the manufacturer's detailed instructions and latest service
bulletins.
Removals:
Make the necessary removals required for access, disconnect and remove each twin engine bank with
transmission, as is designated by the Ship Surveyor, from the vessel to the shop.
Fuel System and Governor:
The overhaul and reconditioning of the vessel's main engines fuel pumps, injectors and governors are
covered elsewhere in these specifications. The Contractor's bid price for this item shall not include these items.
