MALFUNCTION

Lack of power.
Step 1.
Check for improper engine adjustment and gear train timing.
Perform adjustment's in paragraph 3-142, 3-154,
3-161, and 3-164, if performance is not satisfac-
tory.
Check the engine gear train timing. An improperly
timed gear train will result in a loss of power
due to the valves and injectors being actuated at
the wrong time in the engine's operating cycle.
Refer to paragraph 3-164.
Step 2.
Check for insufficient fuel.
Perform a Fuel Flow Test and, if less than 0.8
gallons per minute with engine at 1200 RPM is
returning to the fuel tank, consult the No Fuel or
Insufficient Fuel table 3-62.
